Go birdwatcing they said...

To be fair, most predators with good vision really do have problem with things that are not moving.

I guess that rumor makes eating people a lot more easy.

Birdwatching? The small ones or the really big one?

There is slight orthogonal perspective at work here, so it might appear larger than it really is.
This effect is used when people photograph snakes and crocs and other wildlife with humans in the background to achieve wow effect and make the subject bigger than it is.

Eyeballing the T.rex height with extended legs would probably make it ~4,5 m high, if the man is 1,7 m.
That is about 1m higher than a normal Tyrannosaurus rex.

Using the head, it seems to be as big as a car in this pic, while a true T.rex had a skull of maximum ~1,6 m.

Answer: no, T.rex was a good bit smaller than this, but still bigger than an average bush elephant.

1,6 meters? I thought Sue had a skull between 1,45 and 1,52 m in lenght.

A fearsome looking creature, but also such a gawking expressions. It's really funny. And of course, the artists comments add to it.
Like the birdwatching bit. One heck of a scary turkey!

How long would one have to take to cook a bird that big? Start on Labor Day?
Still a funny image. Love your sense of dad humor.

Yeah, the vision thing is baloney. Mr Rex probably saw better than we do. (Unless it was the frog DNA dictating his sight, in which case, maybe?)
