Worm Witch by damir-g-martin Worm Witch by damir-g-martin
Photo taken by me. Model, my wife.
Yes, these are real Zophobas morio babies and they are really crawling over my wife's face :)
Not a single Zophobas was hurt during or after the shoot. Tho, some of them end up in my Bearded Dragon over time.. Lizards eat worms unfortunately.
Only thing that was hurt during the photoshoot was my face and my eyes. I'm allergic to these guys.

Add total darkness, muck, and lightless fire, and you have Hell.

It is difficult to imagine her as a "Pyrogenous Menmurdering Succubus" but then again it seems you both lead a sophisticated lifestyle. Congratz!

Ewww Bewwww Gewwww How did she manage to keep a straight face while feeling all those tiny little crawling things coming in direct contact with her skin?
I mean
Bleeeehhhhhhhh
This is outstanding in a way.
I usually don't have any problem with spiders, flying things, etc. But the moment those kind of creatures are crawling on the floor (either with legs or with none) I simply lose it.
Snakes are an exception, since they are really so beautiful.
But those?!!
Awe.

Seriously amazing and stunning to look at, by the way, awesome work.

It's definitely a cool concept. How many ideas do you have for DinoMonsters that you'd want to use at some point? :)

Your wife is quite the trooper.  I used this Seething Mass by RonTheTurtleman  as my decktop to keep my wife from using my computer.

They start smelling bad if you dont change their substrate at lest 2-3 times a week. Otherwise do not smell at all in their larvae stage. When they reach beetle stage, they smell like some oil based product, pretty bad smell actually. If you touch beetle, your fingers will smell for the rest of the day and there's nothing you can do to remove the smell.
They bite if hungry, mine have loads of food so we had zero bites during shoot :D

I think my biggest wonder is how you captured this, as Schiraki also asked. Hole in a box? Bathtub? I can't see myself in this situation, haha

I love how shiny the buggers (no pun intended) are! They just look so smooth and remind me almost of shelled caterpillars.  I love that one that's crawling onto her chin, though, it just adds something to the picture I can't quite pinpoint.

Outstanding. The pattern the worms form looks beautiful and the contrast of her face and the worms makes it an eye catcher. :)
How did you get everything around her face covered with worms so even? Bathtub? ;D

What happend to the zophobas after the shooting? :/

Thanks!
I'l leave it to viewers imagination to wonder whether it was a box or a bathtub ;D
Zophobas are fine and healthy and eat loads of carrot and stuff. Tho, my bearded dragon becomes hungry every now and then..
